A FORMER restaurant owned by a TV chef that was converted into a house has been listed on the market for more than £1million.
Lime Tree Cottage, in Beazley End, just North of Braintree, is now a four-bedroom period house in a semi-rural setting.
However, the property was once owned by celebrity chef Jamie Oliver.
Lime Tree Cottage appeared in the 1992 TV series of Lovejoy, and again in 2006 when it was bought by the Fifteen Foundation - a charity run by celebrity chef Jamie Oliver.
Under its previous name, The Cock Inn was first listed as a public house in the 1800s and was thoughtfully and sympathetically converted into a private house in 2013 and renamed Lime Tree Cottage.

On the ground floor, there are four receptions room, a kitchen and breakfast room, a spacious utility room and a cellar.
Heading up, on the first floor is a corridor landing with four bedrooms and a family bathroom, fitted with a luxury white suite, and the principal bedroom, which has a double bed, dressing facilities and an en suite bathroom.
Outside, there is a large sweeping drive, a double garage and a southwest-facing garden
Head of residential sales at Savills Essex Karl Manning said: “Lime Tree Cottage is an absolutely gorgeous house which is beautifully presented in a peaceful, semi-rural setting.
"Thought to be more than 400 years old, the property has been thoughtfully converted from its former use as a public house – sympathetically combining contemporary finishes and stylish new additions such as exposed chrome pipework and solid oak doors with a wealth of period features to give it a traditional feel and plenty of character.”
