THE League Two relegation outcome is now decided, with Oldham Athletic and Scunthorpe United destined for the National League next season.

However, there are still issues to be settled at the top of the table, with some crucial fixtures taking place tonight.

Forest Green Rovers, who have already sealed promotion to League One but are now striving for the title and travel to play Swindon Town, who still have play-off aspirations.

Victory for Exeter City over visitors Barrow will secure them promotion and end a ten-year stay in League Two.

And Mansfield Town and Sutton United, who both currently reside in the play-off places, host Stevenage and Crawley Town respectively as they look to cement a top-seven finish.

Luke Hawkins looks at the remaining promotion issues, in League Two.

Gazette:

1 FOREST GREEN ROVERS

83 pts, GD: +34 – three games remaining

Key players: Kane Wilson, Nicky Cadden, Jamille Matt, Matty Stevens

THE league leaders are three points clear after a goalless draw to Bristol Rovers saw Exeter reduce their advantage with a win against Rochdale.

The division’s third top scorer and club captain, Jamille Matt, has been the most effective target man in the league, while Kane Wilson and Nicky Cadden have been supplying the assists.

However, his strike partner Matty Stevens is the club’s top goal scorer this season with 23 goals and was side-lined after a bad injury against Scunthorpe.

The leaders have guaranteed automatic promotion but may have left the door open for the title to Exeter City after dropping points at the Memorial Stadium.

Fixtures: Swindon Town (A), Harrogate (H), Mansfield (A)

2 EXETER CITY

80 pts, GD: +24 – three games remaining

Key players: Jevani Brown, Timothée Dieng

TWO of Exeter’s remaining games are to be played at home, with their toughest fixture on paper a trip to Northampton.

The Grecians disappointed against Tranmere last time out with a 0-0 draw, but Jevani Brown is the creative spark that keeps them ticking and has put in three man-of-the match performances in his last ten appearances.

Timothée Dieng, named in the League Two Team of the Year, has also contributed directly to game-winning goals against Newport County and Carlisle in recent weeks and both will need to be at their best if Matt Taylor’s side are to keep their title hopes alive.

Fixtures: Barrow (H), Northampton Town (A), Port Vale (H)

3 NORTHAMPTON TOWN

76 pts – GD: +20 – two games remaining

Key Pplayers: Sam Hoskins, Jon Guthrie

AFTER leapfrogging Port Vale with a 4-2 win over Leyton Orient, Northampton will face Exeter City who are currently four points above them with a game in hand.

Sam Hoskins again proved a crucial player for the Cobblers with a tally of 11 goals for the season making him the club’s top scorer.

The consistent Jon Guthrie has been part of a sturdy defence for Northampton this season and extended his goal total to eight with a goal, last time out.

Fixtures: Exeter City (H), Barrow (A)

4 PORT VALE

75 pts – GD: +21 – two games remaining

Key players: Ben Garrity, Jamie Proctor

WITH one less game than their rivals at the top of the table, the Valiants are mathematically out of the title race after a frustrating 2-0 defeat to Walsall.

With a promotion spot still possible the last fixture of the season against second-placed Exeter has become even more important.

Jamie Proctor has bagged five goals in six games and his form could be crucial to their promotion charge and fending off the chasing pack.

Fixtures: Newport County (H), Exeter City (A)

5 BRISTOL ROVERS

74 pts – GD: +14 – two games remaining

Key players: Anthony Evans, Elliott Anderson

ROVERS are undefeated in five games and earned a respectable draw at home against Forest Green last time out.

Joey Barton''s side have been in good form in the closing stages of the season, but they still have a tough task on their hands to earn automatic promotion with only two games remaining.

Elliott Anderson is a player who has surprised in recent games, with three of his six goals this season coming in his last four fixtures.

With games against Rochdale and bottom side Scunthorpe remaining, the fixture list makes automatic promotion doable, but it is not a certainty.

Fixtures: Rochdale (A), Scunthorpe (H)
