On your marks, get set, go!
An annual charity run is back to raise money for great causes.
Runners have the chance to enter the race in Colchester on May 8 and raise money for three worthy causes - East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH), Colchester Emergency Night Shelter and Colchester Foodbank.
Known for its fast, flat course, the Colchester 10k attracted more than 800 runners when it was last held in 2019 before Covid put a pause on the run.
Race director Tony Dutch said: “This is a major event and we’re very much looking forward to staging it.
“We held a virtual version last year but it’ll be great to see everyone and be together again.
“Hopefully we can raise as much money as possible for three worthy and important local causes.”
The race is organised by Rotary in Colchester community group.
It starts and finishes at Abbey Field, getting underway in Circular Road North at 10.30am.
The cost is £17.50 for unaffiliated runners and £15 for affiliated runners and members of the Armed Forces.
