A SALON is looking forward to being “part of a bustling community” after opening in the heart of Tiptree.

Feathers Hair Salon has unveiled its new branch at the former Coral bookies in 68c Church Street.

The salon is now fully booked a week in advance despite being unable to have a grand opening on Wednesday, manager Kerry Bush says.

Kerry has worked at Feathers since she was 15, spending the past 13 years alongside her business partner Nicola Tubbs at the Maldon branch.

The duo had always dreamed of opening a salon together and now they run two after eyeing Tiptree for a few years.

Kerry said: “We’re a different kind of salon so we want to bring something different to Tiptree.

“We’re at the heart of the community in all of our towns and we're looking forward to becoming part of the community here.”

Feathers is an award-winning salon which was established in north Essex in 1989 and has expanded over the years with salons in Braintree, Chelmsford, Colchester, Maldon, Witham and now Tiptree.

The Tiptree salon currently has four employees and will be creating more jobs in the area.

Kerry added: "Feathers put our success down to our commitment to ongoing education and development for every team member, we work closely with Passion4hair academy in Milton Keynes."
