A SUCCULENT food and drinks event bursting with glorious grub and live music will return to Colchester later this year, much to the delight of meat-eaters.
The Sausage and Cider Fest will take over Castle Park on September 16 following a successful tour of several large indoor venues last year.
The celebration of all things tasty will boast more than 20 different types of cider flavours, from traditional crafts to well-know brands, as well as other beverages.
There will also be more than 15 types of sausages on offer from the array of food suppliers and stands pitched around the historic site.
Soundtracking the day of eating, drinking and dancing will be a line-up of local bands and tribute acts such as Subarctic Monkeys, Scam Fender and The Kopycat Killers.
There will also be on-stage entertainment in the form of eating competitions chilli chomping challenges for the braver attendees.
Tom Cullen, marketing manager for Sausage and Cider Fest, said: “The success indoors has meant we can grow the event to some amazing new outdoor sites.
“We feel Colchester is one of those locations we could not miss out on bringing such an event to.
“We’re delighted after working closely with Colchester Council’s Events Team who have helped bring this unique food festival to the local area.”
