A SEX offender who covertly watched a woman for his sexual pleasure has been spared an immediate prison sentence.
Gavin Jones Caspian, of Berechurch Road, Colchester, was “sexually gratified” by observing his victim in Colchester.
The 30-year-old also disclosed private sexual photographs and films of the same woman through his crimes which took place between August 11 and 13, 2020.
He has now been ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register and will remain a known individual to police for the next five years after admitting the two crimes.
Colchester Magistrates’ Court was told Caspian began his crimes on August 11, 2020, when he observed his victim undertaking a “private act” while knowing she did not consent to being observed.
The court heard the act was made more serious by the fact Caspian was watching on in order to gain sexual gratification.

On August 13 of the same year, Caspian was found to have disclosed a private sexual photograph and/or videos without the consent of the woman, who appeared in the content.
Deeming his offences of high seriousness and taking into account its duty to protect the public, magistrates sentenced the defendant to 18 weeks in prison but suspended the term for the next two years.
The court ordered Caspian to be electronically monitored until July 25 and undertake a programme requirement for 29 days.
Furthermore, he must undertake a further rehabilitation requirement for 30 days and 200 hours of unpaid work, to be carried out within the next year.
A restraining order was also imposed upon him to not go anywhere he believes the victim may be or have been present.
Caspian was ordered to pay £263 in a surcharge and costs.
