A BELOVED father has been left unable to walk after suffering numerous broken bones during a vicious attack.
During the early hours of last Monday morning, the man is understood to have been badly beaten in Sudbury while enjoying a night out.
He was reportedly followed out of the Infinity nightclub in East Street at about 3am by a man and a woman before he was knocked unconscious near the Brewery Tap.
The victim, who works for a Colchester butchers, was left injured until about 8.30am when member of the public flagged down passing police officers.
After being taken to hospital it was established he had suffered a broken ankle and broken fibula in his right leg, a dislocated kneecap in his left leg, and a broken nose.
Following surgery and a five-day stint under the supervision of doctors and nurses, he returned home but is now currently recovering in a wheelchair.

The mother of his son said she has been left devastated by the incident.
She said: “His mum called me to tell me what had happened and it really upset me and it is heart-breaking because we are still close because of our son.
“He is now in a wheelchair and cannot walk and he is also unable to spend time with our son, so it has really hurt us.
“He cannot even remember what happened but thinks he was attacked by a man and a woman who were about 30 years of age.”
Since the assault on the butcher Suffolk Police officers have launched an investigation and are appealing for any eyewitness to contact them.
The former partner added: “I just hope the people who did this are caught and justice is served.”
Anyone with information regarding the attack or who was in the East Street area of Sudbury between 3am and 4pm on Monday should call 101 quoting reference 26210/22.
A spokesman for Suffolk Police said: "Any motorists who were driving in the area at the time with a dashcam in their vehicle are asked to check the footage for anything that may be of assistance."
