A ROCK and roll evening of music will pay tribute to the sounds of a revered cultural movement which shaped a generation when it is staged as a town centre venue.

Britpop Live will take place on the top floor of Three Wise Monkeys, in High Street, Colchester, on June 24, presented by TWM Live in association with Total Productions.

The event will see talent musicians perform tracks by the legendary genre’s most recognised artists including Oasis, Blur, Ocean Colour Scene, Pulp and Suede.

Before and after the show there will also be an indie disc which will see DJs spin a variety of fitting indie bangers to get the party started and to keep it going.

A spokesman for Britpop Live said: “It’s the sounds that shaped a generation and a movement that defined a generation.

“Were you there? Did you live it? Or did you miss it but you love it? Either way, now we can all be there again.”

Britpop Live, which is for over 18s only, will start at 8pm and finish at about 11.30pm.

Tickets cost £15 if bought on the door on the night of the event or £12 when purchased in advance from threewisemonkeyscolcehster.com.
