DRIVERS are continuing to experience delays on a busy main road this evening despite an earlier crash being cleared.

The A12's Londonbound carriageway between Eight Ash Green and the Avenue of Remembrance in Colchester is suffering from slow-moving traffic.

The Gazette understands the congestion is a result of debris being found scattered across the road and eyewitnesses have reported a rolling road closure being in place.

The latest incident comes just hours after the A12 came to a standstill between Spring Lane and Ardleigh following a serious smash involving three lorries.

It also follows the closure of Lexden Road near Hospital Road, where an oil spillage from an earlier accident is being cleared.
