A FURIOUS mother has pulled her children out of school over claims her eight-year-old daughter was threatened at knifepoint by another pupil.
Hannah Woodley, from Basildon, said her son and daughter will not be returning to Cherrytree Primary School in the town after the alleged incident on Tuesday.
She says her daughter, who has ADHD, was threatened with a knife and verbally abused during the lunch break.
Hannah, who is 31, said: “I had a call from the school on Tuesday from a class teacher to say there had been an incident in the lunch hall and she told me she was reading from a piece of paper which had just been given to her.
“She said there was something very serious that had taken place where another child got a knife and threatened to kill my daughter and call her explicit things.
"Another boy got involved and tried to stop it but the boy said he would not stop until he killed my daughter."
The alleged incident happened in the lunch hall between 12pm and 1pm.
It is understood the 'weapon' brandished was a cutlery knife.
Hannah added: “We went to the school on Tuesday afternoon after the call but were told the headteacher was busy.
"We spoke to a senior team leader who told us about the incident.
"My daughter was worried about telling the teachers the swear words the boy used at her so she wrote them down.”
The angry mother said her daughter was worried about going to school yesterday after the incident and she claims the school told her to hold off on calling the police.
Hannah says her daughter is "traumatised" and she is now struggling to find new school places for her two children.
Essex Police confirmed it has recieved a report about the incident.
The school, which is run by the Burlesduna Academy Trust, said it was aware of the incident.
A spokesman added: "The school and trust have policies and procedures in place to deal with such matters and as soon as the incident was reported, these policies and procedures were implemented and are currently being followed.
"It would be inappropriate for the school or trust to comment on a confidential school matter any further.”
