THE brand new make-up of Colchester Council has been proposed.
In May’s local elections, the Liberal Democrats gained three seats and Labour scooped two, taking their respective total seats to 14 and 13.
The Green Party also won a seat in Castle, taking its total up to three seats and completing a full set in the ward.
The Gazette can now reveal David King (Lib Dem) will lead the council with Adam Fox (Lab) as his deputy if the proposals are endorsed at Wednesday's council meeting.
The six-strong cabinet will be made up of Pam Cox (Lab) as culture and heritage boss, Steph Nissen (Green) of environment and sustainability and Julie Young (Lab) of housing and communities.
Martin Goss (Lib Dem) will lead neighbourhood services and waste, Mark Cory (Lib Dem) is the new resources boss and Andrea Luxford-Vaughan (Lib Dem) takes the planning and infrastructure role.
A spokesman, on behalf of all three parties, stated this is a “talented Cabinet with fresh ideas to tackle the challenges faced by our residents”.
