A MAN who made a victim “look over her shoulder” has been jailed for 14 months after breaching a restraining order.
Jack Brown, 23, of Stockwell, Colchester, appeared at South Essex Crown Court on January 28 when he was banned from visiting the home of a victim in Harwich.
Despite the judge’s ruling, Brown breached his restraining order by showing up in front of her house on March 20.
At that time he was also serving a six-month sentence suspended for 18 months for the offences of stalking, criminal damage and disclosing private sexual images.
Appearing at Chelmsford Crown Court, Brown admitted to the breach.
The court also heard he had a short relationship with the victim and only visited her home because he was planning on ending his life.
In her personal statement, the victim said: “He should be away from me.
“The whole process took a long period of time which had a significant impact on my life.
“Now he has turned up at my home and involved my family putting them at possible risk.
“I had no contact with him since he has been convicted and suddenly he has been at my door.
“I was shocked, scared and it all happened in a blur.
“He is relentless and I don’t know what will stop him.”

Elliot Moulster, mitigating, told the court Brown was suffering from significant mental health and abandonment issues.
He added: “He had attended to say goodbye because he planned to unfortunately end his life.
“He waited until police attended.
“This is not a defendant who went out of his way to cause violence and distress.
“He did this from significant personal circumstances.
“This is a defendant who had a very difficult start in his life, grew up in the care system with little or no support.
“He developed a sense of abandonment.
“He had a brief relationship with the victim in this case and reacted badly to the ending.
Sentencing Brown, Recorder William Clegg QC, said: “ This court set out to protect her [the victim] and that protection required you to leave her alone which is something that you did not do. “
