COLCHESTER schoolchildren have created images of the Queen for the design of a new jubilee bus, launched by First Essex to celebrate the Queen’s special anniversary.
The bus company engaged with schoolchildren by delivering a virtual art workshop led by professional community artist Jenny Leonard.
Jenny helped hundreds of schoolchildren through the step-by-step process of creating a portrait. More than 200 of the pieces of art will be displayed on the bus.
The bus is set to roll out across Colchester from the beginning of June as part of the celebrations.
Pupils will also have the first ride when the bus visits participating schools including Boxted St Peter’s Primary School, Kings Ford Infant School and Nursery and St Michael’s Primary School and Nursery in Colchester.
