A milkshake firm could be on its way to Colchester after plans for it were approved.
Milksha, which sells products ranging from bubble tea to ice cream, applied to open a premises in the former Coffee Republic site in Head Street.
The works will include new signage installed as well as a projecting sign and internal window displays.
The store’s interior will be refurbished to transform it from the original coffee shop design.
A planning report reads: “Since the start of the pandemic, many businesses have undergone major changes.
“As the pandemic now shows signs of coming to an end, more people are looking to return to the high street shopping.
“With the increase of footfall numbers within the UK, and therefore the historic town of Colchester and its location within the region as a popular shopping destination, there’s an understanding the proposals provide a new fresh appeal and attraction to the store and area of Colchester.
“It can be concluded that the impact of the development proposal on the surrounding transportation network should be considered as no change and, therefore, the proposal should be recommended for approval.”
Colchester Council has now approved the plans for both signs and refitting the property.
