A GARDEN centre has raised £25,000 to help create magical outdoor spaces for children with life-limiting illnesses.
Stanway Garden Centre, in London Road, and its sister sites at British Garden Centres pledged in January to raise the huge total by 2024, but has already hit the impressive milestone.
The money will go to Greenfingers Charity, which dedicates itself to creating beautiful gardens for life-limited children and their families who spend time in hospices.
A cheque was presented at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show by Amy and Abigail Stubbs, daughters of the British Garden Centres joint founders.
Amy said: “It’s amazing to see our centres create awareness and raise money for Greenfingers. This charity means a lot to us, and we support them in everything they do.
“This money raised will only go on to help them create more magical gardens for children's hospices”.
Greenfingers patron David Domoney added: “It was a great pleasure to receive this wonderful donation on behalf of Greenfingers Charity.
“The support of the entire British Garden Centre family really will make a tremendous difference to the work of the charity and in turn the families and carers who spend time in Greenfingers gardens.”
