THE tour of Britain women’s road race stage one is causing the closure of the following roads in areas across the county.
There will be roads closed on Monday, June 6, from 11am until 12.20pm in Colchester, Layer-de-la-Haye, Aberton, Langenhoe, Fingringhoe, Old Heath, Greenstead, Fox Heath, Ardleigh, Lawford and Manningtree.
The second stage of the tour will close roads between the hours of 11am and 1.30pm on Tuesday, June 7.
Areas that will be affected by the closures is Harlow, Hatfield Heath, Hatfield Broad Oak, High Roding, Great Dunmow, Little Dunmow, Felsted, Chelmsford, Penden Hill, High Easter, Ongar and Epping Road.
Access for emergency vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained at all times during the closures.
- A jubilee festival fun run will close Hall Road and Lexden Road, in West Bergholt, between 11.45pm and 12.45pm on Saturday, June 4.
- Twelve nights of resurfacing works will begin on Monday, June 27, between 8.30pm until 5am which will temporarily close Western Approach in Stanway.
- Centenary Way, in Little Clacton, and Clacton on Sea will be closed on Monday, June 13, for five nights between the hours of 10pm and 5am while sprinkler systems are installed by Affinity Water.
- Great Tey Road, in Marks Tey, will be closed on Monday, June 13, for five days while joint box works are carried out by Openreach.
- Inworth Lane, in Wakes Colne, Colchester, will be closed from the junction on Middle Green to the junction on Bures road for works undertaken by County Broadband Ltd. The closure will start on Monday, June 6, for five days across the distance of about 645 metres.
- Kingsland Road, in West Mersea, will be closed from the junction at Prince Albert Road for sewerage works by Anglian Water. The closure will begin on Monday, June 13 for five days.
- Long Road East and Mill Hill, in Dedham, and Dedham Road, in Lawford, from Thursday, June 16, for 14 days. The closure is for duct laying works by Gigaclear Ltd.
- Plough Road, in Great Bentley, will be closed for 12 days from Monday, June 6, for new sewer connection works by DA Cant.
- Queens Road, in Wivenhoe, will be closed for five days from Monday, June 20, while new connection works are done by Cadent.
- White Colne Road, in White Colne, and Brookfield Road and Parkhurst Green Lane, in Wakes Colne, will be closed for three days from Tuesday, June 21. The closures are in place for remedial reinstatement works by County Broadband Ltd.
