A LIFEBOAT crew rescued a seriously ill patient during a daring early morning operation.
RNLI West Mersea’s crew rushed to Osea Island at 2am on Saturday to transfer the person at high tide.
Arriving on scene, the casualty was placed onboard the lifeboat and taken to Marconi Sailing Club, Steeple, where an ambulance was ready to take them to hospital.
The lifeboat then returned to station and was made ready for service, the RNLI stated.
