POLICE are investigating after a man was taken to hospital with facial injuries following a "disturbance" in Halstead.
Essex Police are on the scene in Halstead High Street after they responded to reports of an incident at around 11.45pm on Friday.
Officers arrived at the scene and found a man, aged in his 20s, had suffered a facial injury.
The man was taken to hospital.
Police remain on the scene today and are appealing for witnesses to help them in their investigation.
A witness reported forensic teams were sweeping the area, while two High Street shops have closed their doors to comply with a police cordon.
Colchester District Commander Rob Huddleston, said: “We continue our enquiries to establish what happened last night and we will remain in the area today.
“We need anyone who saw anything or has any dash cam footage to contact us. Anyone who has not already spoken to officers, but who may have information that can help our investigation, is asked to call us today.”
