A COMMUNITY recording and rehearsal facility is set to mark its anniversary by hosting a special gig.
Black Cactus Studio, in Great Bromley, will celebrate its second birthday on July 23 with a show at Coda, in High Street, Colchester.
The state-of-the-art creative complex opened its doors during the middle of the coronavirus pandemic and has since become the go-to place for musicians.
The event marking the two years of trading will see Fraser Morgan, She’s In Parties, Someone Else’s Rain and Ben Brown take to the venue’s stage.
Best Days Vintage will also be spinning a range of vinyl records throughout the evening while also raising money for the shop’s mental health drop-in sessions.
Speaking ahead of the celebratory gig, Alan Jones, founder of Black Cactus Studio, said: “Opening my own studio was a dream, so the last two years have been great.
“I was always confident in what we were aiming to do, but I will always remain taken aback when I think about just how positively the studio has been received.
“Everyone has been so supportive of what we strive to do for musicians in Essex and so it felt fitting to mark our second birthday with a top gig with top artists.”
