A SUCCESSFUL networking event took place in Tiptree showcasing the best local produce.
Figures from throughout the hospitality sector had the opportunity to sample Essex products, from jam to gins, in Tiptree’s first “All things Local” event.
It was an opportunity for many hospitality buyers, business owners and independents to meet in person for the first time since the pandemic.
The event provided a great opportunity for buyers to discuss with suppliers about future events, like turkeys and puddings for Christmas.
Visitors also enjoyed a guided tour of the strawberry fields in a vintage bus, driving through the countryside in the height of strawberry season.
Jon Rayment, national account manager for Wilkin & Sons, of Tiptree, said: “Many of the businesses we talked to were looking to raise their offer and we were pleased to welcome guests from Essex and Suffolk including: Thomas Ridley, Fenwick and Greyfriars.
"The Colchester Institute Chefs’ Kitchen inspired people to consider ways of improving the presentation of their dishes
“It was a great day to talk about some of the fantastic Essex products and produce and to welcome the guests to the farm”.
