A number of roads across Colchester are set to see both yellow and red lines introduced.
Dozens of roads across the borough will have double yellow lines painted.
A number will also see red lines added.
The zero tolerance order, which is usually reserved for the most important roads in London, bans cars from stopping in the roads at any time.
It is also designed to prevent parking on verges and in lay-bys, prohibits loading or unloading, and stop drivers from being allowed to get out of or into vehicles.
Here is where the lines are set to be introduced:
- Double yellow lines will be introduced at multiple areas along Fernlea, Colchester which means drivers will not be able to wait at any time at many points on the road.
- Golden Dawn Way and Hugh Dickinson Road will both have double yellow lines introduced as well as Kirby Drive and Mill Road in Colchester.
- Double red lines will be introduced, which means drivers cannot stop at any time at points around the Colchester district including in and around Apprentice Drive, Colchester.
- Single red lines will be introduced at multiple points in Colchester which means drivers won't be able to stop at these areas between Monday and Friday from 8am to 9.30am and 2.30pm to 4pm. Areas introducing the single red lines are the junction of Apprentice Drive, the access road to Braiswick Primary School and points along Apprentice Drive.
- More Single red lines are being introduced, this time preventing stopping from Monday to Friday between the hours of 8.15am to 9.15am and 2.45pm and 3.30pm outside Queen Boudica Primary School.
- Double yellow lines will replace the single yellow lines in Prior Way and some surrounding roads which means drivers will now not be able to wait at any time in these roads.
- Double yellow lines will replace single yellow lines in other areas of roads including Golden Dawn Way, Hugh Dickson Road, Holden Road and Coeur De Lion.
- Area of Mill Road, Colchester will see changes and extensions to the existing double yellow lines in place.
