A 52-YEAR-OLD man who rode an e-scooter despite being over the legal drink drive limit has been banned from the roads.
Lee Jay was caught by police officers riding a SPIN e-scooter in North Station Road, Colchester, on November 11 of last year.
He had 139mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood. The legal limit is 80mg.
Jay, of Axial Drive, Colchester, admitted the offence when he appeared at Colchester Magistrates’ Court.
He must pay £971 in a fine, surcharge and compensation and was banned from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 16 months.
