A MAN who breached a restraining order imposed by a crown court judge has been jailed for 12 months.
Despite being placed under a restraining order at Chelmsford Crown Court in 2020, Luke Smith, 29, of Ratcliffe Court, Colchester, was found to have showed up at the address of an individual who had filed a court order to prevent harassment.
The offence took place in May this year and Smith was jailed for a year at Colchester Magistrates Court.
Magistrates said the offence was considered serious because Smith had persistently made contact with the complainant despite the protective order being in place.
He also had previous convictions for similar offences.
Smith was also ordered to pay victim services £156.
