FIREFIGHTERS have issued a warning after an overheated battery sparked a shed fire.
Two Colchester fire crews attended a property in Halstead Road, Colchester, to tackle the blaze shortly after 2.40am on Tuesday.
On arrival it was noted a “large shed” was fully alight and the smoke was beginning to affect the house.
An Essex Fire Service spokesman said: “Crews extinguished the fire by 3.28am and believe the fire was caused by a battery that had overheated while charging."
