The attraction is currently advertising for six jobs including everything from senior tiger keeper role to a construction labourer.

Here is a rundown of what is currently on offer.
Senior Animal Keeper - Tiger Section
This is a full-time role working within our tiger department.
Those working in the section are responsible for Amur tiger, Pygmy hippo, spotted deer, Visayan warty pig, bush dog, African vulture species and various reptile and fish species.
The successful candidate will carry out “required to input ideas for the continual progression and development of animal husbandry, breeding management and enclosure design on the section.”
The job advert added: “Alongside more senior members of staff, the job holder will be responsible for mentoring and allocating work duties to junior employed staff members; qualified keepers and apprentice keepers, and volunteers; student keepers and work experience students.”
The role involves a 40 hour week and will include weekend work.
The salary is £22,880 per annum.
The closing date for the role is July 29.
Senior Animal Keeper - Carnivore Section
The "exciting position" would see the successful applicant join the keeper team working in the carnivore section.
The successful applicant will be part of a team entrusted with the care of Malayan Sun Bear, Amur Leopard, African Lion, Fennec Fox, Giant Anteater, Asian Shortclawed Otter, Binturong, Red Panda, Pileated Gibbon, Wreathed Hornbill and Lion-tailed Macaque.

Deputy Team Leader – Elephant Section
The successful candidate will deputise to the team leader, driving forwards the husbandry and welfare standards of the four elephants.
The job advert said: “The deputy team leader will be responsible for mentoring, motivating and managing more junior employed staff members (senior keeper, qualified keeper and apprentice keeper) and volunteers (student keepers and work experience students).”
The role involves a 40 hour week and will include weekend work.
The salary is £26,000 per annum.
The closing date for the role is August 8.
Conservation Educator
Colchester Zoo says it is looking for a ‘passionate, enthusiastic and well organised person’ to join its conservation team.
The role will see the successful candidate book school visits and ensure teachers and school staff have all the information they need for a smooth trip.
The job advert said: “The role will also prepare, deliver and evaluate activities for zoo visitors around the Zoo across holiday periods. These activities will be part of our conservation campaigns to engage our visitors with topical issues surrounding wildlife in the UK and globally.”
It is a one year position for a full time role which starts in August.
There will be a five day working week with some weekend and occasional evening work.
The salary is £23,920 per annum.
Commercial Services Team Member
The zoo has a vacancies for people to join the commercial services team.
The zoo has opportunities for people who would like to work in retail, catering, admissions or children’s entertainment.
The advert said: “Successful applicants may be mainly based in one service area e.g., catering however at peak times we may ask you to assist across all areas of the service as business needs demand.”
Applicants are asked to be “be flexible and adaptable” and “be able to engage and communicate clearly and confidently with guests.”

Construction / Maintenance Labourer
The zoo is looking to fill a vacancy that has arisen in the maintenance team.
The job advert said: “The successful applicant will make a significant contribution to this by supporting the ongoing construction and maintenance activities that support our ongoing and ambitious development plans.
“The right person for this job must enjoy working outdoors work in all weather conditions, and must want to work to promote and achieve the high standards of safety and quality compliance that Colchester Zoo demands for our guests, colleagues and animals.”
The full time position includes a five day week with some weekend and holiday work.
