A TREE rooted concerningly close to a house went up in flames before fast-acting firefighters quickly de-escalated the situation.
Two crews from Essex Fire Service were called to Crosstree Walk, in Colchester, at 5.45pm on Thursday following reports of an inferno.
Upon arrival they found a nearby home was being badly affected by heat and smoke coming from a tree which was ablaze.
Within just half an hour of crews arriving at the scene the fire had been extinguished.
