A CAR caught fire after it left the road and collided with a tree in a incident off a busy roundabout, it is understood.
A mass emergency services response including an air ambulance attended the scene on the Greenstead roundabout, Colchester, yesterday afternoon.

The Gazette has been told the vehicle collided with a tree after leaving the road shortly before 3pm, before catching alight.
One eyewitness said the car had gone straight over a mini roundabout and mounted the main roundabout where it collided with a tree.
He added paramedics were at the scene as he drove past at about 4pm.

Another motorist stated the emergency services remained at the scene until at least 5.30pm.
The police, fire and ambulance services have been contacted for comment.
