TWO new businesses could be on the way to Colchester’s city centre after planning bids were submitted.
Under the plans there would be a new takeaway and convenience store move into the High Street.
An application asking for advertising consent for a logo to be displayed along with backlit lettering on three panels has been submitted for 156C on the High Street.
The building was formerly used as an American fried chicken shop.
The new plans are for a takeaway called Big Mouth.
It will sell burgers, kebabs, fried chicken, peri peri chicken and shakes.
A separate application for advertising consent has been made to the council for 103-104 High Street.
It is an illuminated sign and window graphic.
Proposed signage submitted as part of the application reveals it is for a Premier store.
The chain already has convenience stores across Colchester including one in Head Street.
The shop would be going into the former Emmaus emporium.
Colchester Council will have the final say on both sets of plans.
