MORE than 100 West Highland terriers are set to meet for a large dog-walking charity event in Colchester.
Colchester Westie Walkers host a walk twice a year at High Woods Country Park.
The event is held as a fundraiser for two charities - Westie Rescue UK and Westie Advice Group UK.
The next walk takes place on Sunday, September 4.
It will start from the Chantarelle entrance of the park.
Organiser Amanda Doyland said: “All that have come before will know how well organised the walk is and this will be our sixth walk.
“This year we would like to beat the 100 Westies walking.
“The walk will take about two and half hours as we do have three stops and one stop is at the visitor centre were we can get refreshments for us and our fur babies.
“All Westies will receive a goodie bag and certificate.
“We will also hold a raffle at the end of the walk, tickets can be purchased before we leave and all monies raised will go to Westie Charity, last year we raised £681.
“The prizes are donated by dog companies and other dog related companies plus we also contribute prizes as well.”
