Days Out with Thomas
Where: East Anglian Railway Museum, Chappel Station, Colchester, Essex, CO6 2DS
When: Saturday, August 27 to Monday, August 29
If you fancy a family day out over the bank holiday weekend then a trip to the East Anglian Railway Museum to see Thomas the Tank Engine and friends might do the trick.
You can get unlimited rides with Thomas, Percy and Daisy, see reenactments of classic Thomas stories, watch the Rusty & Dusty show and much more.

When: Sunday, August 28
This free event from the Colchester Rugby Club would make for a good day out over the bank holiday weekend.
There will be a lot to do on the day, including inflatables, funky voices choir, a fire engine, ice cream van, food stall, BBQ, footgolf and three different bars.
Card and cash will be accepted on the day, and more information can be found on the Colchester Rugby Club website here.
MJ Soul Bank Holiday Afternoon Tea
Where: Wivenhoe House, Wivenhoe Park, Park Rd, Colchester CO4 3FA
When: Monday, August 29
Come and listen to a fantastic set from MJ Soul, all whilst enjoying a selection of delicious sandwiches, freshly baked scones and beautifully presented cakes.
MJ Soul will be performing his unique blend of 70’s and 80’s covering musicians such as Luther Vandross, George Benson, Lionel Richie and The Drifters.

Fingringhoe Wick Summer Holiday Trails
Where: Fingringhoe Wick Nature Discovery Centre, South Green Road, Fingringhoe, Essex, CO5 7DN
When: Saturday, August 27 to Monday, August 29
Just five miles in a south east direction from Colchester you can find the Fingringhoe Wick Nature Discovery Park.
During the school Summer Holidays Fingringhoe Wick offers a different wildlife and nature trail every week for children to enjoy.
The trails will be available all through the August bank holiday weekend and up to Friday, September 2.
Whilst the trails are free donations amounting to £2 per child are suggested.
