A sliproad off the A12 at Colchester has been closed after a large pothole appeared. 

The sliproad at J27 for Spring Lane is shut at its exit which heads to Cymbeline Way. 

Essex Travel Centre said: "Colchester – A12 offslip at J27 Closed at the Spring Lane exit towards Cymbeline Way due to a large pothole." 

This was ongoing as of 3.20pm. 

There are already some delays on the A12 due to the roadworks and 40mph restrictions. 

To avoid the closure drivers can instead exit at junction 26 for Stanway or junction 28 at the Jobserve Community Stadium.
