DRIVERS can expect delays when a crucial Colchester road closes this month.
Mersea Road in Colchester is set to close from August 19 from its junction with Napier Road to its junction with St Botolph's Circus until September 3.
The closures will take place at night in a bid to reduce disruption.
Each day the road will shut to drivers at 7pm before reopening the next day at 5am.
The closures are needed while patching work takes place with diversions via Roberts Road, Eagle Drive, Military Road and Magdalen Street.
Essex Highways said: "The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway and footway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
"Access for emergency service vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained at all times during the closure."
