AN historic garden show is set to wow visitors when it makes its return for the first time in three years.

The Tiptree Garden Club will hold its first autumn show since 2019.

There will be stalls selling crafts, cakes, jams and more at the event.

Peter Wilkin, the chairman of Wilkin and Sons and the great-grandson of the founder will present prizes, cups and certificates for a range of competitions.

There will be an auction of the surplus produce at the end of the afternoon.

The club’s publicity officer, Phyllis Woodiwiss, said: “We are hoping for a good number of entries in the flower, fruit and vegetable classes but the very dry weather has made gardening a challenge.

“There is usually a good variety in the cooking, crafts, floral art and photography classes, not forgetting the scarecrow class, there have been some classic entries and some unusual ones, this is for adults and children.
