A COMEDIAN has announced he will be setting up a new club to give up-and-coming comics a chance in Essex.
Harry Pettitt says Hogeez Comedy Club will give those honing their skills an opportunity to test them against new audiences when it launches next month.
Set up alongside pal Tyler Smith, who is helping with production, Hogeez’s inaugural event will be held at Rowhedge Social Club, in Marsh Crescent, on September 29.
Harry, who has had crowds laughing since he began performing stand-up six months ago, added all proceeds from the first night will be donated to Ending Life’s Taboo.

The lifeline charity offers rapid end of life counselling and support for 18 to 45-year-olds diagnosed with a life limiting illness.
“The club will help to give all the best up-and-coming comics in London a chance to gig in Essex,” said Harry.
“I’ve been doing stand-up properly for six months now and it has been going pretty well – I hope – and so I thought it would be fun to MC a local night."
Harry, a former University of Essex student, added the club will tour different venues across the county over the coming months.
Tickets for the first event cost £8 and can be purchased via bit.ly/3PRzFkH.
