Stanway Green Lodge Care Home has celebrated one of its residents reaching 32,000 followers on Facebook... and they did it with a rock and roll garden party.
Cindy Grimwood runs a Facebook group called the Old Colchester and District in Pictures which had about 5,000 followers before she started living at Stanway Green Lodge.
Since becoming a resident at Stanway Green Lodge, however, she has amazingly been able to bring about 27,000 new followers to the page.
She said: "Running the site gave me great pleasure and it felt amazing seeing the interest the Facebook page received.
"I am grateful towards the followers and I want to thank them for their continuous support".
Colchester mayor and mayoress Tim Young and Nicola Goodchild, as well as Jo Edwards from Colchester Civic Society attendant, congratulated Cindy on her work and presented her with a certificate for her success.
The care home is looking to hold an open garden day on Monday between 11am and 4pm to welcome the community to visit its garden.
The event will be postponed if the weather is bad.
