ONE of the country’s most famous – and at times controversial - comedians will try out a set of new material when he takes to the stage of a Colchester arts venue.
Jimmy Carr, known for his deadpan delivery of close-to-the-mark one-liners, for which he has been both praised and criticised, will perform at Charter Hall, on September 29.
As well as being known for presenting 8 of 10 Cats Does Countdown, the 49-year-old is also the star of what became the country’s most streamed Netflix comedy special in 2021.
During his new show, named Terribly Funny 2.0, the television funny man will tell jokes “about all kinds of terrible things” as he tests how far he can push the audience.
A spokesman for the Colchester event, which costs £34.50 to attend and starts at 8pm, said: “Jimmy’s show contains jokes about all kinds of terrible things.
“Terrible things that might have affected you or people you know and love. But they’re just jokes – they are not the terrible things.
“Having political correctness at a comedy show is like having health and safety at a rodeo. Now you’ve been warned, buy a ticket.”
