FAMILIES looking to celebrate the festive season against the backdrop of a unique and historic setting can now secure their slot at a forthcoming event.
Colchester Castle will be transformed into a magical Christmas grotto between December 3 and 23.
Throughout the magical month, children will have the opportunity to meet Santa Claus and ask for the presents they would like to see under their Christmas tree.
Pam Cox, Colchester councillor responsible for culture and heritage, is thrilled to have been involved in the curation of such a hallmark occasion.
She added: “Expect plenty of festive cheer, fun with the cheeky elves, and, of course, that special moment when the children can whisper their secret Christmas wishes.
“Father Christmas will also make sure the children go home with a special gift made by his hardworking elves.”
Tickets for the grotto, which cost £7.85 for children, including a special gift, can be purchased by calling 01206 282939.
The booking hotline will be open between Mondays and Saturdays from 10am until 5pm and from 11am until 5pm on Sundays.
