A MUSICAL powerhouse fired up and raring to go following the coronavirus pandemic will take to the stage of a city centre entertainment venue next month.
Fara, a Scottish band brimming with quartet fiddlers and pianists, will perform at Colchester Arts Centre, in Church Street, on October 3.
The group will be stopping off in the city as part of a UK tour in support of their highly anticipated third studio album.
Bursting with new tracks and with songs adapted from the words of Orcadian poets, Energy Island is fuelled by their native Orkney’s role in renewable energy.
During the show, audience members can expect to experience a unique mix of spellbinding vocals, fiddle harmonies and a kinship born in childhood.
The four-piece previously performed at the Royal Albert Hall and continue to tour internationally with sell-out gigs across Europe, Australia and North America.
A spokesman for the band said: “Fusing the talents of Jeana Leslie, Catriona Price and Kristan Harvey, alongside Rory Matheson, Fara have firmly secured their foothold at the forefront of the Scottish folk.
“They are sure to delight and entertain audiences wherever they go.”
Tickets for the gig - the doors for which open at 7.45pm - cost £16 or £15 for concessions and can be purchased by visiting colchesterartscentre.com.
