A NATIONAL celebration of bread-baking is back with the World Bread Awards competition.
The Tiptree World Bread Awards launched in 2013 and are open for professional and amateur break bakers to enter.
Hundreds of loaves are expected to be sent in by courier, train and even by plane.
Categories include sourdough, savoury sweet, Irish Wheaten and more.
The awards are sponsored by Wilkin and Sons Ltd for the link between bread and Tiptree jam products.

The joint managing director of Wilkin & Sons Scott Goodfellow said: “Sponsoring the Tiptree World’s Bread Awards in association with Brook Foods has given us the opportunity to meet so many skilled bakers and to raise the profile of great British breads.
“Each year the judging of the loaves takes place in London when experienced bakers, cooks and writers spend time considering each loaf, which is then rated and ranked.
"As judges we all learn from each other as we discover new versions of traditional and innovative loaves.
“There is still time for bakers, professional and home bakers to enter as this year’s closing date is October 9.”
