A YOUNG man is fighting for his life following a serious crash in Elmstead.
Emergency services were called to the B1027, near Keelars Lane, at 5.10am on Sunday following reports of an injured person
The road is closed to traffic between School Lane and Elmstead Road while police carry out an investigation.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "The vehicle believed to be concerned in the collision had left the scene.
"A young man has been taken to hospital by ambulance where his condition is thought to be life-threatening.
"B1027 is now closed to traffic between School Lane and Elmstead Road - please avoid the area whilst we carry out collision investigation enquiries.
""We’d ask anyone who drove along the B1027 this morning to check their dash cam to see if they have captured anything that may help us.
