A motorcyclist had his foot severed in a horror accident in Colchester.
Police were called to the Colchester-bound carriageway of Clingoe Hill at about 1.05pm yesterday.
There they found a 30-year-old motorcyclist.
He had lost his foot and suffered serious head and chest injuries in a crash.
It is believed the man was riding with two other motorcyclists on separate bikes at the time.
It is understood that one of the other bikers was his brother.
He was rushed by ambulance to Colchester General Hospital for emergency treatment.
Police closed the road between Wivenhoe and Colchester for several hours to carry out investigations.
It is not known what the condition of the motorcyclist was this morning.
