A TEAM of authors hope they can stump readers with The Cricket Quiz Book.
Chris Cowlin, Alan Finch and Adam Pearson have compiled more than 1,000 questions to test readers.
Mr Cowlin, production manager at Apex Publishing, based in St John's Road, Clacton, has written dozens of fundraising sports quiz books, mainly about football.
The Dickie Bird Foundation will get £1 from every copy of the £8.99 book sold.
The charity, set up by the former cricket umpire, who wrote the foreward for the book, helps disadvantaged under 18-year-olds take part in sport.
Mr Cowlin, 27, said: "I've published a lot of sports books before, but mainly about football.
"The contact with the Dickie Bird Foundation is through my Celebrities' Favourite Football Team book."
Mr Cowlin usually writes on his own but this time he enlisted the help of pal Alan Finch, a cricket enthusiast and fellow former Clacton County High School pupil, and quiz book specialist Adam Pearson, from the Isle of Wight.
The team researched the questions from biographies and other books, programmes and the internet.
It took about three months to write.
"I'm more of a football fan so it was good to have Alan and Adam on board," he said.
Mr Cowlin and Mr Finch will be signing copies of the book at Waterstone's in Culver Square, Colchester, on June 28 from 11am to noon.
