Extra traffic in a Walton cul-de-sac is not enough to warrant refusing a bid to build eight flats, according to planners.
Haven Development and Property wants to replace a two-storey four-bedroom house at 4 Kirby Road with apartments, with access from Churchfield Road.
Residents, supported by Frinton and Walton Town Council and Essex County Council's highways department, says the busy cul-de-sac is unsuitable for further traffic.
A total of 45 letters of objection have been received by Tendring Council.
The authority's development control committee will consider the proposal on Tuesday. Planning officers have recommended approval.
A report to members says the extra vehicle movements created would be minimal and not enough to warrant refusal.
