A troubled young mantook his own life hoping to be reincarnated, an inquest heard.
Matthew Hoddy, of Sherbourne Road, Colchester,suffocated himself in the belief he would be reborn as something better.
The unemployed 20-year-old,who suffered from ME since leaving college, was found with a plastic bag over his headin his bedroom on August 3, 2006.
A post mortemexamination confirmedhe died of suffocation.
His father, Robert Hoddy,told the inquest: "As a family, we believe in reincarnation, butunlikesome we take the view you can choose where you will be born next.
"I believe he wanted to end this life and start a new one."
Essex coroner Caroline Beasley Murray recorded a verdict of suicide.
