A MAN who assaulted an on-duty police officer has been ordered to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work within the next year and pay a heavy fine.
Jonathan Basseille, 45, was charged with common assault of an emergency worker after an incident which took place on Saturday, August 20, in Colchester.
Admitting the charge at Colchester Magistrates Court, Basseille was told to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work over the next 12 months and pay costs of £359.
