A GARAGE sale organised after a young woman's life was cut short by cancer is set to go ahead for the fifth year.
Villagers will once again be asked to pull together and open their garages in memory of 19-year-old Carla Dawson, who died of a rare form of bone cancer in 2003.
The sale raises money for St Elizabeth Hospice's The Carla Dawson Tribute Fund, where she was cared for before her death. This year money will also be raised for the Arthritis Research Campaign.
Yvonne Amoss, Brantham garage sale organiser, said the event started off by just getting rid of some unwanted goods but has grown each year.
Last year there were more than 40 garages involved, which raised more than £1,500 for the hospice and the RNLI lifeboat fund.
The sale takes place on June 21 from 9.30am to 4.30pm. Each garage taking part is asked to donate a minimum of £5.
