CONCERNED villagers have completed their training to help cut the number of speeding motorists in the village.
Seven volunteers in Alresford have successfully finished their training for the Community Speed Watch scheme, and have been provided with a speed gun to target hotspot areas.
Several times a week, groups of two or three will set themselves up in different locations throughout the village where there are 30mph or 40mph speed limits.
They will then monitor the speed of traffic and pass on the registration numbers of offending motorists to the police.
Officers will then write to offenders, warning them that they had been caught and reminding them of the speed limit.
