A CHARITY walk which takes in 13 miles of Essex countryside is set to be held this month.
Organised by the Rotary club of Manningtree Stour Valley, more than 100 people turn up to take part in the event and raise money for their individual charities.
Club spokesman David Moss said: "Up to now the event has raised in excess of £60,000 in the last six years."
Final entries had to be submitted by Saturday to take part in what will be the seventh annual Mayflower Walk on May 25 from Harwich to Manningtree.
Participants start at the Low Lighthouse and finish at Manningtree Station - there is also a shorter walk option from Harwich to Wrabness or Wrabness to Manningtree.
Mr Moss said the club wanted to encourage more young people to join in, which would ensure the future of the event.
