A NEW group for people who have survived a stroke could be launched in the next few weeks.
At a pre-launch party, several volunteers came forward to help form a committee for the group.
It will be joined at the end of the year by a second group and will become the Stroke Association Colchester Wayfinders Support Group.
Elaine Lloyd, from the Stroke Association, said: "We had about 40 people turn up for the party which was great.
"Hopefully, we've found someone to act as secretary and possibly a treasurer too.
"I'll be getting together with them and the chairman Brenda Lambert to discuss how the group will work."
She said it was likely the group will meet once a month on a Wednesday afternoon once it is properly established.
