A resident living near Colchester's new community stadium has voiced fears that an accident will happen if articulated lorries keep pulling out on to his road.
As part of restrictions placed on building at the site, "stop and go" signs should be used for passing traffic when lorries leave the site and come on to Boxted Road, near the bridge over the A12.
But on Monday night, Steve Turner said he saw an articulated lorry trying to exit on to Boxted Road at about 5pm without the "stop and go" signs being used.
"This took approximately 20 minutes as it could not get up the ramp with a heavy load," he said.
"Eventually it reached the peak at approximately 5.20pm and after some revving moved partially on to Boxted Road.
"At this point a white van came across the A12 bridge and had to avoid the lorry.
"The real issue here is that the stop and go' requirements in Safety at Street Works was not being observed."
